A leader of the Lithuanian world in Bnei Brak, he was known for his extreme personal simplicity and his vast leadership of the Degel HaTorah party. He lived in a tiny, sparse apartment while carrying the weight of the entire Torah world on his shoulders. He was a model of humility and clear-eyed leadership.
